Sporadic fighting between the government soldiers and Islamist rebels has started in Karan districts in the north Mogadishu,
witnesses said on Wednesday.
Witnesses said that the two sides have used heavy machine guns and rocket propelled grenades in the fighting.
The fighting started early on Wednesday around Karan police station where the two sides have been fighting in recent days.
No causalities have been reported yet as most of the civilians in the area fled from Karan and near by districts in north
Mogadishu.
Witnesses also said the remaining civilians including women and children started to flee from Karan district because they could not
stand the repeated wars in the area.
The sporadic fighting comes as there has been heavy fighting between the two sides which more people including civilians died
during the fighting.
